Rent-A-Wreck of AlexandriaCelebrates Ten Year Anniversary - New Owner For Rent-A-Wreck of Springfield

(10/28/05) Owings Mills, MD – Nash Makar, the owner and operator of Rent-A-Wreck of Alexandria, the convenient and cost-saving neighborhood car rental company, is celebrating his 8th year of success this month. Making the occasion even more noteworthy is Makar’s announcement of the grand re-opening of Rent-A-Wreck of Springfield, his second location, which Nash recently purchased from its former owners, Shirin Elkoshairi and Yasir Syeed.

Since joining the Rent-A-Wreck system, Makar’s fleet has grown to include a variety of vehicles. Located at 8800-I Peartree Village ct. and 6803 Backlick road, respectively, Nash’s Rent-A-Wrecks are two of more than 350 franchise locations worldwide.

“Our focus over the past eight years has been to meet the car rental needs of the community. We’ve made the Rent-A-Wreck name stand for quality and service,” said Nash. “I value all my customers, some of whom have been coming here for the past 8 years,” he continues. “I want to build lasting relationships with them by providing the good service they deserve, which is why I bought the Springfield location.”

Nash was born and raised in Egypt, where he studied music and mastered the classical violin. In 1977 Nash moved to America and worked in a bank while acquiring his American citizenship. In 1984 Nash started working various jobs at a car dealership. After a year, his hard work earned him promotions from a salesman, then to manager and on to senior sales manager. Working closely with cars and people, Nash discovered a new interest and after resigning from his position in 1997, Nash went on to pursue owning his own car rental business.

After opening the Rent-A-Wreck of Alexandria, Nash proudly accepted the award for Best Facility of the Year, applauding him for a neatly kept office, well maintained cars and superior customer service. Earlier this year Nash was presented with an opportunity to acquire another Rent-A-Wreck location in Springfield, Virginia. As his business grew by word-of-mouth from more satisfied customers, Nash noticed that many people were coming from other neighboring cities. He saw this opportunity as a way to expand his business and provide more convenience to those out-of-town customers already loyal to him.

So what’s in the future for Nash and his Rent-A-Wrecks?

“My goal is to continue serving my customers. I would like to expand further and have another location,” said Nash. “There are still many people that have to make the trip from other cities to rent a car from me. I would like to bring my brand of customer service closer to their homes.”

Rent-A-Wreck rents new and used cars, vans and trucks. Used vehicles are typically two to four years old. Every Rent-A-Wreck vehicle is expertly serviced and safety inspected before each rental. Most standard sized and models, including station wagons, vans and trucks are available.
