(10/28/05) Owings Mills, MD –David Chandler and Patrick Bouchard Jr., owners and operators of Rent-A-Wreck of Bangor, the convenient and cost-saving neighborhood car rental company, are celebrating their 10th year of success this month.

Since joining the Rent-A-Wreck system, the Bangor fleet has grown five-fold to include a variety of vehicles. “Our business grows every year,” says Patrick. “Many of our customers are out of town, and they do not want to pay high rates and fees at the airport, so they come to us,” continues David, who also notes that they’ve been serving some of their loyal customers since their very beginning, ten years ago. Located at 602 Main road, in Hampden, David and Patrick’s Rent-A-Wreck is one of more than 350 locations worldwide.

Patrick and David are not only business partners, but also are close friends, who met over 20 years ago. Two years into their friendship they became business partners and started selling cars together. After exploring the automotive business for 18 years, they bought the Rent-A-Wreck facility from its previous owner. Ever since then “we’ve worked together and remained good friends, unfortunately,” jokes Pat.

“Our focus over the past ten years has been to meet the used car rental and leasing needs of the community. We’ve made the Rent-A-Wreck name stand for quality and service,” said Patrick, who plans to continue expanding their fleet.

Rent-A-Wreck of Bangor has remained active in the community which they serve by sponsoring a number of local events and sports teams, such as the little league softball team and school yearbooks.

Rent-A-Wreck rents new and used cars, vans and trucks. Used vehicles are typically two to four years old. Every Rent-A-Wreck vehicle is expertly serviced and safety inspected before each rental. Most standard sizes and models, including station wagons, vans and trucks are available.
