Rent-A-Wreck of Lancaster, Ohio Opens Its Doors
Lancaster, Oh (05/17/11) - Beginning Monday May 9th, consumers in Fairfield County will have a new choice when they need to rent a car as lifelong resident, Dean Tennison, opens the newest franchise location of Rent-A-Wreck of America.
Dean has already established a trusted name for himself as the president of Specialty RV Sales of Lancaster and now has added car rental to his list of services at 509 S. Broad Street in Lancaster, Ohio. Specialty RV also has a sales location at 2445 Columbus-Lancaster Road, Lancaster.
Dean says, "This new business may be called Rent-A-Wreck but don't let the name fool you, we will only be offering low mileage, up to 2 year old used vehicles most of which will still be under manufacturer's warranty. Rent-A-Wreck is a widely known company in the car rental industry and will be a natural complement to our existing business, which includes RV rentals. I hope to add towing vehicles to the R-a-W fleet so that we can offer a complete vacation package for those folks who need it. We have already added some 12 passenger vans to the fleet that are ideal for Church groups, sports teams etc. Our goal is to give consumers a new choice in the local car rental market."
Bill Cash, President of Rent-A-Wreck of America says "Dean is the perfect example of what we look for in an entrepreneur when we select new franchise owners. He understands the consumer market, believes in providing outstanding customer service and he wants to add to and grow his existing business. We are sure that Dean will be very successful."
Dean has appointed another long-time county resident, Debbie Clifford, as manager of his rental operations. Debbie has been managing the RV rentals for some time and is excited about her new challenges. She recently spent time at the Rent-A-Wreck company store in Baltimore, Md. and got to know the "ins and outs" of the car rental business.
Rent-A-Wreck is a 38-year-old car rental company that was founded by a young, southern California entrepreneur who pioneered the concept of renting "clunkers - used cars for less than the competition. The idea gained widespread popularity as celebrities such as Paul Newman, Henry Fonda, Bob Newhart, Ringo Starr and three James Bonds have rented the older cars in order to preserve their anonymity. Today, Rent-A-Wreck franchise owners worldwide like Dean Tennison rent newer model cars, trucks and vans.
